The act of rituals serve as an opportunity to commit to the natural flow of energy. I know, I know. The first thing that comes to mind with rituals is chanting around the bonfire under the full moon. While I have to admit that sounds like fun, these 8 ritual ideas serve more as a commitment to release stagnant energy in your life.

I don’t know about you, but last week I absolutely went into grind mode where I was pushing myself in a way that didn’t feel so good. I had some ideas on ways I could connect back to that flow of life. The release and using of energy momentum that you hold within. Try these out and let me know what you think! Leave your ideas in the comments!

1. Mailing Cards

Mindfully take time to go to the store to pick out some pretty cards (or even make them by hand!). In the evening, you can take time to sit by some dim lighting to write heartfelt letters to people you care about and who hold a space in your heart.

There is something so special about sending and receiving a letter. Send them to a few people who have been on your mind lately, whether you are in contact or not. Showing a gesture is 100,000 times more powerful then sending a text. This is such a special energy exchange.

2. Breathing Into Stones

Inspired by the wonderful Shaman Kitty Edwards, this is great for releasing intense emotion that you’re holding in your body. Simply grab a stone/rock crystal and focus on that intense energy.. let it expand.. and then RELEASE it! Blow that momentum and energy into the stone.

Then at some point you can hold that stone by your heart and breathe into the stone through your heart-center.

3. Writing Letter to Your Little Self

Especially great if you felt alone or misunderstood when you were younger or feel like you would like to invite more free-child energy into your life. Take a sheet of paper and a pen. Write to yourself, talk to her.

The very beautiful thing is that if you resonate that all time and space exists now, you may actually feel that this message has been received by your younger self. You can even have a picture of yourself on an altar and have it there to remind you of the feeling of the power in your journey so far, and that I can do anything energy!

4. Drinking Cup of Tea

One of the simplest rituals I like to take part in ever since coming back from New Zealand, is having an evening cup of tea. Sitting on my bed with a blanket, on the couch looking onto the patio or at the kitchen table watching my mom cook, this is a great way to relax.

Focus especially on the sensations you feel. The way the tea taste, the temperature on your lips, and as it goes into your stomach. Smell the scent of the tea and feel the warmth as you hold it in your hands. This is especially a great way to slow down. I also recommend putting some classical or jazz music on, and turning your phone off for a few minutes.

5. Giving Love + Gratitude to Things

Put on some soft tunes and walk around your room giving gratitude and love into the items you have. Thank them for serving their purpose. Feel their texture, notice their shape and even the contrast against your skin. Find beauty and aesthetic in the way things are as you clean your room.

When do the laundry, you can also make it a ritual to try and do that more mindfully. Giving gratitude for access to clean clothes and all the beautiful clothing you have. Thank your clothing, accessories and jewelry for allowing you to look fine as hell:)

6. Lighting a Candle and Manifesting

Candles have the ability to relax and slow down the mind. Light a candle or turn a dim light on. On your desk, cuddled up on the couch or on the corner of your bed.. grab a pen and a journal and start dreaming up ideas and possibilities and write them down. Feel into them and allow them to expand through your heart. You can use this 32 questions printable sheet as a guide to tap into dreams, visions and possibilities.

7. Sitting

At the park or even on your sofa, sit down and just observe. Observe the people walking by and interacting with their environment. Watch the breeze flow through someones scarf or notice how fast the clouds are moving. If you’re inside, hear the sound of the HVAC or the water in the pot boiling. Take it all in. One day, you’ll absolutely be able to place yourself back into that setting.

This practice really allows your heart to feel full and allows you to connect to the stream of blessings and intention in the air.

This will allows for you to really engage your senses into this experience. Be present and feel all the sensations in each step you’re creating. Create a Pinterest board with recipe ideas and then pick the one that excites you the most!
