Still-Life Visual Meditations No.1
In a fast paced world, we often forget about the details that make up our daily experiences. These small little details, are actually such magical moments. I know it sounds incredibly cheesy, but when you look back on the simple moments in life, they make you feel warm and grateful.
These are pictures from my still-life portfolio taken in New Zealand while I was living there. Let me take you back, and immerse you in the present moment and small moments that I experienced.
1.
As you walk towards the door, feel the soft carpet underneath your soles. Breathe in the feeling of the warm sun hitting your skin. Just focus on that feeling for a bit. Open your eyes, and notice the greenery outside. Healthy and vibrant mother nature expressing herself. Feeling the fresh air coming through the gap between the balcony doors. Watch as the curtains dance with the shadows and sunlight.
2.
Breathe in the warm air as you feel the slight breeze on your skin. Watch as the wave comes closer and listen as you hear it crash. Off in the distance, notice how to sunset kisses the rock formations. Notice the reflection of the sky on the damp sand. Breathe in the salty, yet super cleansing air. Feel yourself relax and implode in the feeling of love and gratitude.
3.
Sitting in the front seat of your car, feel yourself relaxed and present as you notice the sun glistening on the fabric of your tote bag and the book you’re holding. Notice the colors and textures that surround you as you take a moment to breathe and reflect on the day. Feeling the gratitude for all you posses.
4.
Feel the handle of the oven and how smooth it is as you open up the door. As you open the oven, feel the rush of warm air hit your shoulders. Right after, a deep scent of warm cinnamon flows through the kitchen. Notice all the details that make this baked good look so tasty. Your mouth starts to water and you feel so grateful for the experience of food. Releasing gratitude for the nourishment that this delicious treat holds.
